Beer at WDW

What's the best? The worst? The in-betweenest?

Those big-ass mugs at the Biergarten rule!

  1. The worst has to be any of the beers at Animal Planet. This is made up for though by how awesome the Yeti ride is when your buzzed. As far as quality goes, Epcot probably has it covered because you can get a nice English Ale and a big ass mug of German Beer.

  2. Bryon,

Animal Planet? Where is this? Whaaaaa?

  3. I think Bryon should be disqualified from commenting on Disney World if he can't distinguish a TV channel from Animal Kingdom :)

Haven't ever had beer at Disney. Sorry. Wine in France in Epcot though, is lovely.

And the "butterbeer" at Harry Potter World at Universal is really just cream soda. (Okay I know that's not Disney, but it seemed worth mentioning)

  4. Karen,

My wife likes to get something from that French bakery then we sit outside and sip wine. Very pleasant.

  5. Dammit. I meant Animal Kingdom. I'm commenting while watching this damn Elmo Sing-Along video that is eating away at my brain.

  6. Karen does bring up an interesting point about Universal though. One of the reasons we stay offsite is so we can spend time at both parks. I love both, but always end up wishing I was at Magic Kingdom more.

  7. Bryon, we booked a vacation through Southwest Vacations this past April and were able to tack on a day at Universal with a free shuttle from our Disney hotel. It worked perfectly.

And yes, I know this has nothing to do with beer.

  8. Germany and UK in Epcot are the obvious choices. I want to say you could also get beer at Norway and Japan at the counter service places but I don't know if that is still true. The beer they serve at the Morocco's Tangierine Cafe is called Casablanca and it was good on a hot day. . .I had never had Moroccan beer before.

  9. I think a good place to drink the beer is as important as the beer itself. Lounging by the pool or the "beach" at the Polynesian with a Longboard Lager is not a bad way to kill an hour.

  10. I love propping up the bar at the Rose & Crown for a pint or four. I also have to second Jeff on the Casablanca beer in Morocco. Had never had it before and enjoyed it quite a bit. Also love the beer in Japan, but don't think there's any way to get it except while dining, not just as a takeaway.

  11. Oh, the ESPN Club at the BoardWalk is also a great place to grab a beer and watch a game to get a little down/recharge time.

  12. Elizabeth,

Japan used to have a great lounge that overlooked the passing crowds in Epcot. But they turned it into another eatery. But it used to be a very nice place to sit and have a cold Kirin.

  13. Quertermous ruins everything.

I'm going with the Rose & Crown. It makes me feel all English-y. And to me it's a great place to really step out of Disney for a few minutes.

  14. Jeff,

Rose & Crown I think might be the top spot for beer hands down. A great final destination if you're doing a circumnavigation.

  15. One more -- you can get Kronenbourg 1664 in France. I opted for that instead of wine one day when it was just too hot/humid for red wine. (We usually eat at Chefs de France at least twice during a visit.)

  16. Hubby likes the beer at the Rose and Crown...and at the Biergarden. But he loves the Sam Adams special brew that is only served at Epcot's Food and Wine Festival every fall.

Personally...I don't drink the stuff...just hand me that pitcher of Margaritas, please. LOL!

  17. I think we're likely to find you over by Mexico then, Debi.
